Branding project for the Swarovski award winning womenswear collection, that is based on the conception of crystals and an extensive use of mirrors integrated into the fabric. This book has been requested to tell the story of the collection.
The choice of the transparent paper has been inspired by the phenomenon called total internal reflection. The shine occurs when the light gets internally reflected several times before it emerges from the crystal.
As a metaphor, each page is designed around the previous one (internal reflection), resulting in the layouts comprised of several pages (the shine).
The act of gazing at the reflection is hence trapped within the pages of the book, turning it into a stop frame animation. Moving image effects have been incorporated into the elements of the book.

On the neuroscientific level, symmetry perception instantaneously triggers the recognition that something is there. It registers the presence of symmetrical features in our field of vision before we realize what we’re looking at.
But it’s the perception of subtle modulations and asymmetries that reveals exactly what, or who, you’re dealing with.
This is an attempt to symbolize the act of gazing into the surface of “nothingness”.
Each letter of the font is vertically symmetrical.
At the center, where the gaze wants to rest, there’s just an empty line between two letters, which creates the disorientating tension of duality.
